What is it?

Food Truck Freak (FTF) is the only website that allows Chicagoans to find which food trucks will be near them and when, while also providing a digital community for food truck fans across the city. FTF also blogs about new trucks, reviews of trucks and legislation that affects area food trucks.

Mission

To strengthen and unite Chicago’s food truck community.

GOALS

1. Make it easy for Chicagoans to learn about and eat from food trucks.

2. Foster a sense of community among fellow Chicago Food Truck Freaks.

3. Support the local economy by driving foot traffic to food trucks. 4. Give back to the city that has given so much to us.

HISTORY

Food Truck Freak was founded in June 2011 when Alex Levine came up empty-handed searching for a site that made it easy to find which food trucks were nearby. Instead of sifting through tweets of existing trucks and constantly crawling the web to find out about new ones, she decided to aggregate all of that infor- mation and add features that allowed others with her passion for food trucks to share their experiences with one another.
