Southern comfort food lovers, rejoice! Tomorrow, a new truck launches that offers down home cookin’. If Art Smith or Paula Deen-esque menus get you salivating, you will want to track down this truck stat.
The Roost website features an (exciting) promise of a weekly menu, which leads us to believe it’ll change often. For launch week, the week of March 12, the menu includes:
- Country Fried Chicken
- Brunswick Stew
- Buttermilk Biscuits
- Baked Apples
- Pimento Mac & Cheese
Of the truck’s Southern menu, truck owner Joe Scroggs says: “Most of the recipes we’ll be featuring have been in my family for generations and were passed down to me from my Grandmother, Lorraine. I’m hoping people who visit The Roost will walk away with warmed souls, feeling like they’ve experienced an authentic taste of the Carolinas.”
This week you can catch the roost from 11am-1pm at 58th and Ellis (Tuesday), Van Buren and Wacker (Wednesday), 600 W Chicago (Thursday), and AON (Friday).
Who can pass up an experience like that?
